Company Profile
In the spring of 1934, in the midst of the Great Depression, thirteen individuals gathered a small fortune to start up an industrial company to manufacture fishing nets, ropes and fishing longlines for the Icelandic fishing fleet. With reference to then commonly used natural fibre hemp, hamp in Icelandic, the company was named; Hampidjan.
Hampidjan has since evolved to become one of the largest fishing gear and super ropes manufacturer of the world, having thirteen entities in four continents with over 500 employees.
